I was in Santa Fe (again) this past week and enjoyed some fabulous shopping. I stumbled into a shop called Origins just of the Plaza to find the most incredible dresses, caftans and scarves from designer Carter Smith. He uses a Japanese technique called Shibori which involves pleating, tying and dying several layers of fabric. I had fun trying on some pieces but cannot afford $1500 for one of his dresses.
I wonder if Stevie Nicks has any of his creations?
